SUMMARY
Immediate requirements include the re-engineering of classroom style training content to modern delivery methods. Performance Learning Objectives (LO) and job sheets of selected courses must be captured through existing schoolhouse content. Gaps must then be identified and filled through interviewing/observing instructor provided Subject Matter Expertise (SMEs).

As all of the requirements are defined, the most appropriate modern training media is established for the Courseware Programmer to develop the finished product.

Update and/or modify curriculum and self-paced training products.

The Programmer supports the design team with the effective formulation of computer-based training (CBT) products derived from the team's instructional system design.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Update, design, develop, produce, and integrate computerbased courseware, incorporating interactions, graphics, prerendered images, audio, video, and text, and animations for interactive multimedia instruction (IMI) courseware and CBT.
  • Work in team environment to plan, design, develop, test and document up to Level IV IMI.
  • Implement effective software in accordance with instructional design requirements/constraints.
  • Support the design team with the effective formulation of computerbased training technology.
  • Work with storyboards and models to design the software development approach.
  • Interpret technical documentation and work in conjunction with instructional systems designers, modelers, and multimedia specialists to develop accurate and effective CBT.
  • Experience with developing Mobile learning content and Apps.
  • Experience with SCORM and xAPI (and LRS).
  • Team support includes developing graphics, animations, textures, prerendered images, audio, and text incorporated into interactive training solutions.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May act as a technical lead and/or working group lead.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years of experience programming IMI/CBT.
  • Familiar with a variety of Learning Management Systems.
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite tools, ActionScript, Dreamweaver, and Captivate development.
  • Experience with XML, HTML, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript programming.
  • Familiar with development tools: Apache, PHP, Perl, SQL, Open GL, Unity CourseMill.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • DoD 8570 Level II certification preferred.
  • Navy Curriculum Development preferred.
  • Experience working with Navy/DoD preferred but not required.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret/Top Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

Job Requirements:
WORK SCHEDULE**40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.


TRAVEL
The expected travel time is less than 25%.


DRIVING REQUIREMENTS


Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver's license and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy.

Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office setting, may operate in military training areas. May be exposed to sharp objects, some heat, loud noise, chemicals, and vibration. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
