The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill a Buildings and Grounds Supervisor position, located at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac, WI.
Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Superintendent, this position will supervise the Institution's maintenance program and generating plant staff, provide direct supervision to maintenance staff and provide direction in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and institution grounds. This position will participate in project planning; direct the preventative maintenance, pest control, and grounds programs; determine supply and equipment needs for maintenance; assist with monitoring budget expenditures; conduct health & safety checks/inspections. Assigned responsibilities include the assignment of security staff and inmate workers to effectively carry out program functions.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-04 with a starting rate of $20.24/hour - $37.30/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

Job Details

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
This position works within a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions, noisy work areas, and frequently has physical requirements such as walking, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying, kneeling, bending, etc.
