PMCO is hiring for a Tool & Die Maker on 2nd Shift in Mount Prospect, IL.

Daily Tasks & Responsibilities:

Plan and fix dies based on work orders and troubleshoot issues during production.
Take apart dies, inspect for damage, and replace worn parts.
Make new parts when needed and adjust dies to meet specifications.
Identify and fix problems from previous production runs.
Adjust dies for design changes and suggest improvements.
Test and refine new dies to meet standards.
Keep records and manage spare parts.
Ensure die safety devices are installed and working.
Help train apprentices and keep work area clean.
Use tools, machines, and a computer for tasks.

Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience in tool making, proficient in troubleshooting.
Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent education and training.
Skilled in safely using various machine tools, precision instruments, and hand tools.
Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety protocols.
Proficient in interpreting complex blueprints and using advanced math skills.
Experience with precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
Skilled in repairing, modifying, and troubleshooting punch press dies.
Capable of debugging and making alterations to new dies with limited guidance.
Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Able to focus on closetolerance machining operations with high accuracy.
Willingness to work in an environment with noise, dust, and occasional weekend shifts.
