The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $65 million and a full-time staff of 400+.


We are seeking a Full Time Resident Manager for The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing for homeless individuals including veterans living with a severe mental illness and/or history of substance use.

The housing program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being.

This 90-unit residence will provide housing for 54 individuals referred by the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the rest 36 units will be apartments for affordable to low-income households


The shifts we are looking to cover are: Monday - Friday 12 am to 8 am OR 4:00 pm to 12:00 am.


  • You have a High School diploma or GED, some college preferred
  • You have a Fire Safety certification is preferred (F02 or F80)
  • You have at least two years of experience working in social service, residential setting
  • You have the ability to work independently
  • You have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You have proficient computer skills internet and Microsoft Office

Key Responsibilities:


  • Function as a liaison between the residents and the staff
  • Collaborate with the Security staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents
  • Perform hourly patrols in the residence
  • Manage any challenging situations and crises that may occur at the residence
  • Responsible for handling any incidents that may occur at the residence and completing an Incident Report form, as needed
  • Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team as well as document them in the appropriate logbook
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings
  • Ensure all aspects of Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with FDNY
  • Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS
  • Other duties as assigned

$19.65 per hour
