- Participates in activities that contribute to professional development of self; may participate in nursing/multidisciplinary committees, orientation programs and unit based Performance Improvement projects demonstrating an ability to act as Team Leader for small projects or work groups that create a collaborative and respectful team environment and orientation programs.
- Assumes role of Resource Nurse as necessary, understanding, coordinating and ensuring work flow through the department and maintaining contact with the Triage RN to appropriately prioritize and place the ED patient.
- Assumes the role of Triage RN as necessary, utilizing an ESI 5 Tier triage system to appropriately assess and prioritize the needs of the ED patient and maintains contact with the Resource RN to ensure safe and timely placement of the patient in the core
- Adheres to the hospital's RESPECT standards; providing a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers
- Equivalent to a graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, current licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- 1 Year of acute care medical-surgical experience (or equivalent) required, Emergency nursing experience preferred
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support, certification required
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support; certification required
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support; certification preferred, required within six months of hire.
- Must be able to pass basic medication test prior to hire
- Must be able to pass basic tele test by end of orientation.

Beth Israel Deaconess Milton is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our Emergency Department. This is a full-time position at 36 hours a week for 3pm-3am shifts.
POSITION FUNCTION:
Utilizes the Nursing Process and standards of the Emergency Nurses Association as the frame of reference for the practice as a professional Registered Nurse and provides direct nursing care of patients and families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, or designee, and with-in the framework of the RN license, participates in the following activities:
o plans, implements and coordinates nursing interventions
o evaluates outcome of nursing interventions
o revises/updates plan of care
o documents nursing process clearly and concisely
o Communicates nursing plan effectively
o RN to MD.
Performs all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules, and regulations set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
May be required to perform similar or related duties as may be necessary on an emergency basis or as designated by the department manager or supervisor.
The nature of the tasks/responsibilities required of employees in this position will likely expose them to blood and body fluids.
