Consultant, Finance Education and Reporting
for the Financial Planning
department.

This position is a hybrid remote opportunity with occasional requirements to come in off at our Hyde Park, IL **locations.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Collaborates with finance stakeholders to build analytic reports and/or tools that help drive system insights, provide actionable information and support decisionmaking.
  • Develops curriculum and training materials and oversees the education of staff on financial concepts, processes, and tools to enhance financial literacy
  • Mentors and onboards new team members, providing supplemental training and support as needed
  • Manages project timelines and deliverables. Ensures timely completion of work and meets stakeholder expectations of all deliverables.
  • As part of a team, participates in the prioritization and routing of stakeholder requests for financial reporting, dashboard development, and ad hoc requests

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelors' Degree required in Business, Computer Science, Finance or equivalent education/ work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a hospital/healthcare setting
  • Experience building healthcare financial analytic reports and tools for end users
  • Deep understanding of healthcare financial practices and healthcare financial business acumen, with knowledge of core terminology (MSDRG, ICD10, revenue cycle, professional vs. hospital billing, etc.)
  • Past experience mentoring staff and colleagues
  • Past experience building curriculum and training materials for finance decision support
  • Past experience working on data integration projects in a business end user role or similar
  • Experience with decision support tools (Strata, Premier, etc.)
  • Experience working with data visualization tools, with basic to intermediate understanding (Tableau or similar)
  • Basic understanding of SQL and data warehousing concepts
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Project Management

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Understanding of cost accounting principles
  • EMR experience
  • Absorb LMS
  • Sharepoint
  • ServiceNow

  • Location: Hyde Park, IL when requred to come onsite (as needed
  • Wednesday's weekly)
