Our company is currently assisting a growing group of clients and is looking for someone to join our small, passionate team in helping bring this collection of visions to life.

Technical Designer:

The Technical Designer will link the design department and production to ensure that all designs translate to garments.

The role reports directly to the Design Director and includes supporting the fit process from design to TOP approval, setting up tech packs and POMs, measuring and preparing samples for fittings, taking detailed fit notes, generating construction guidelines and clear fit comments to vendors under the direction of the Design Director.

The Designer will be working closely with the design, product development and production team.


Daily Job Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Check in samples received from vendors and measure them for fittings
• Set up initial tech packs and select POMs an develop construction callouts
• Prepare for and attend all fittings, taking detailed notes and photos
• Analyze garments to determine compliance of spec, construction and fit
• Work collaboratively with Design Direction on import and domestic proto through production samples
• Update WIP and maintain tracking dates for styles
• Request pattern files from vendors and maintain organized storage folders and filing systems for all documentation
• Partner with PD and Design in fittings
• Develop CADs for buyers
• Create initial spec sheets based on sketches and/or photos
• Assist designers during initial tech pack development for each new season
• Communicate and followup with overseas and US factories on the status and progress of developments.
• Receiving / Logging / Sending out development samples

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in fashion design or equivalent experience
• 35+ years of experience working in technical design of apparel is a must
• Experience working with domestic and overseas factories
• Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim
• Knowledge of fully fashion knit/sweater is a bonus
• Proficient in Adobe Suite Programs
• InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be proactive and highly organized with excellent time management skills
• Team player and solutions oriented

Pay:
$58, $65,000.00 per year
