    This is a part-time (20 hours) to full-time exempt position.

    Position Purpose


    The Children's Community Mental Health Clinician will provide direct clinical services, paraprofessional staff consultation, training, and support for the afterschool youth development program.

    We seek a license-eligible clinician to serve as our Community Mental Health Clinician in a non-traditional mental health setting, using an anti-racist, trauma-informed, child-centered, community social work model.

    Our setting requires formal mental health skills (case management, assessment, individual & family therapy, referrals, etc.) and informal behavioral coaching, social-emotional support, youth development, and skill development.

    We are designed to bring mental health services to communities that wouldn't normally access support and are seeking a professional who will commit to the community.

    Key Responsibilities

    Clinical Care (25%)


    • Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy.
    • Provide clinical case management for youth.
    • Develop, monitor, and implement treatment goals and interventions for all modalities of direct service.
    • Perform accurate and timely record-keeping and documentation of all client-related activities (e.g., assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans).
    • Collaborate with mental health providers to identify treatment options for members.
    • Consult with the off-site clinical team proactively and preventatively.
    • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled client reviews clinical, and staff meetings.
    • Orient afterschool staff regularly on referral process and resources.
    Socioemotional Cultural Support (60%)


    • Facilitate living skills and social-emotional cultural programming for youth and families.
    • Facilitate milieu-based interventions.
    • Develop systems that integrate support into traditional youth development programming.
    • Develop and increase accessibility to socioemotional resources available to youth and families.
    • Facilitate restorative practices.
    Staff Capacity Building (15%)


    • Lead case conferencing for the paraprofessional staff team to coordinate services for youth members.
    • Provide consultation to afterschool staff about mental health challenges impacting youth.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of agency-wide mental health policies and procedures.
    Requirements

    Required Skills


    • Master (MSW/MA) from an accredited school of Social Work, MFT, or Psychology.
    • Registered with BBS or BOP within 90 days of employment.
    • Genuine intrinsic motivation to consistently visit and collaborate with all BGCSF locations.
    • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
    • Current First Aid/CPR certification (or within 90 days of employment).
    • Able to work afternoon and evening hours.
    • Pass a criminal background clearance.
    • Proficiency with Google Workplace and Zoom.
    Preferred Skills


    • Language Skills: Spanish, Arabic, or Cantonese
    • Experience proactively collaborating with community resources and systems.
    • Experience working with youth, adolescents, and diverse communities.
    • Licensed or registered with BBS or BOP.
    • Basic understanding of youth development in an after-school program.
    Physical Requirements


    • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
    • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
    • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods.

    Pay


    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, and other business and BGCSF needs.

    At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and depend on each position's circumstances.

    Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry-level, mid-level, or top-of-the-range for their role and compensation.

    As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range for Part-time is $35,000 - $43,750, and for Full-time is $70,000 - $80,000 annually (Based on Part-time or Full-time, the compensation may vary.).
