Using the latest techniques, our highly trained and experienced pediatric specialists provide outstanding dental and orthodontic care in a comfortable, kid-friendly setting.

We offer services for fearful and anxious children as well as children with special needs.
We have openings in the following offices for a part-time

Dental Assistant:
Pediatric Dentistry of Albany in Albany, NYThis position earns $20 to 25.00/hour, depending on experience.

High school diploma or equivalentOne year of experience as a dental assistant OR certification as a registered dental assistantDental X-Ray License strongly preferredPediatric experience strongly preferredKnowledge in Practice Management ChartingExperience in Treatment Planning strongly preferredAssists dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directedAbility to complete documentation promptly and accuratelyAbility to use sound judgement; possess a calm disposition and the ability to work easily with othersOur staff is integral to our dentistry practice.

Dental Assistant Responsibilities:

Primarily responsibility is to assist the providers and be always present with patients in room at all timesGreet patients in waiting area and escorts patients to operatoryAssists dentist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directedPromotes an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene; questioning patients to ascertain home care status, instructing patients in techniques of flossing, and brushing.

Maintain a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control proceduresReview patient's health history, make chart entries under the direction of the operator and assure completion of forms and signaturesFamiliarize the patient with the aspects of their dental visit and provide support and compassion as neededAssist Dental Hygienist as needed; taking X-rays, getting patient seated and prepped for prophylaxis, setting up/cleaning treatment roomStock operatory and maintain clinical supply inventory.

Communicate with office staff and vendors to insure prompt receipt of all ordersReview daily schedule and set up appropriate trays and instrumentsAssist with front office procedures as requestedMaintains patient confidence and protects patient and company by keeping information confidential Conduct preventative maintenance on dental equipmentComplies with all company policies and procedures
