How will you make an impact?
The Manufacturing Scientists team is seeking a leader to support the Antibodies manufacturing group within Carlsbad operations. You will balance bench science activities with documentation of troubleshooting and process development and improvement, including equipment validations. Strong flow cytometry experience is required; experience with other immunoassays (ELISA, bioassay, western blot) is preferred. You will consult and participate in NPI transfers from R&D.

This position requires the ability to influence without direct authority by utilizing training, experience, and people/leadership skills to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

This is a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment where your contributions will have a direct impact on life science research.


What will you do?

  • Design and execute experimental studies based on the deliverables. Analyze and summarize the data and provide complete documentation.
  • Lead and complete improvement or root cause analysis projects with a high degree of complexity and scope.
  • Prepare and execute validation protocols.
  • Process development and engineering for productivity and scale/yield improvements.
  • Work crossfunctionally to efficiently release products, resolve problems, and provide support to other departments across the organization.
  • Present experimental results at team meetings and seminars.
  • Provide detailed protocol (batch record) documentation for implementation in manufacturing
  • Drive improvement projects for safety, quality, and costreduction.

Education

  • Minimum required Education: Bachelors degree

Experience:

- three (3) years relevant manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (industrial experience preferred).

  • Prior strong Flow Cytometry experience is required
  • Immunoassay experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Broad based knowledge and experience in immunoassays, experimental design (DOE), and statistical quality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible team player capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Project management experience.
  • Effectively work cross functionally with representatives from other departments and teams.
  • Critically evaluate, revise, or create process documents; ensure that efficient, reproducible, quality manufacturing processes and documents are developed for new and existing products.
  • Strive to improve product quality through establishment of more effective or efficient manufacturing processes and quality testing.
  • Initiate and implement appropriate experiments to address manufacturing process failures.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $83, $125,000.00.


This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
