    Qualifications:

    Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Senior International Air Freight and Risk Mitigation Transportation Analyst (Level 4) to join our Transportation Warehousing & Logistics (TWL) team in Seattle , Washington or Everett , Washington

    The Transportation Analyst will lead and guide others on statement of work and independently represent transportation and logistics to internal/external organizations. They will also support cross-functional teams in the introduction of new processes, tools and techniques for Transportation Analysts. They are responsible for documenting, implementing, and maintaining team improvements for air freight mode and network supply chain risks. They will investigate and perform root cause analysis on complex compliance and logistics initiatives specifically related to global supply chain impacts and recommend best practice solutions.

    They will execute complex freight transactions, analysis and assessments that ensure compliance with Federal and Regulatory Agency guidelines and business program needs. They will also coordinate and lead a variety of internal transportation process reviews, impact assessment activities and support services related to global transportation. In addition, they should develop, recommend, and lead changes to new or existing processes including cost-effective methods for transporting goods without sacrificing efficiency and timeliness.

    The analyst will partner with transportation carriers to maintain daily operational health and monitor carrier performance with the ultimate goal of ensuring a stable inbound supply chain to support Boeing production. They will also collect, analyze, and make recommendations for supply chain/carrier/network changes and improvements based on high quality data analysis including global network trends, freight costs, various shipping modes (ocean, air, truck, ground). Finally, they should lead cross-functional projects and teams managing supply chain critical impacts and risks (i.e strikes, labor impacts, government shutdowns, etc.).

    Position Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing and leading complex process for transportation and logistics projects with very high leadership visibility.
  • Supporting the team in complex problem analysis, tracking and tracing shipments, expedite shipment management to help with supplier recovery efforts.
  • Be the logistics SME as part of multiple supplier recovery projects to influence and drive to actionable results.
  • Managing transportation management processes to ensure they meet customer requirements.
  • Support function including problem analysis, tracking, and tracing shipments, expedite shipment management.
  • Determining the most cost-effective methods for transporting goods without sacrificing efficiency and timeliness.
  • Research, create cost estimates, and negotiate transportation options.
  • Collect, analyze, and make recommendations using data about timeliness, cost, types of modes, etc.
  • Interpret and apply logistics policies, processes, and methodologies to support business initiatives.
  • Execute International freight transactions in accordance with Federal and Regulatory Agency guidelines.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 5+ years' experience working in Transportation or Logistics
  • 5+ years' experience with shipment freight forwarding
  • 5+ years' experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • 5+ years' experience with data analysis and/or data mining
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of Supply Chain Risk Management
  • 5+ years of experience with Route Planning Experience
  • 5+ years of experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in International Air Freight
  • Typical Education/Experience:

    Typically, 10 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g., Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
