    Description
    Protection Engineer- 5YearsPOWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Power System Protection Engineer to join our SCADA and Analytical Services (SAS) team.

    The home office for this position is located in Denver, CO but offers the ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location within the state of Colorado.

    The candidate should expect to report to the Denver, CO office.

    Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will be responsible for successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships.

    Completion of these functions requires technical competence in primary production roles as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring and supervising team members assigned to projects.

    Assigned projects will include electrical studies for utility and industrial/commercial clients. Systems to be analyzed will include conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission and distribution systems.


    Technical disciplines include the following:

    Protective Relaying:
    short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis

    Applicable software:

    AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, RSCAD/RTDS The successful applicant must also demonstrate aptitude in the following: Integrity Initiative and self sufficiency Spoken and written communication Leadership and mentoring Business and commercial performance Troubleshooting and problem solving Interpersonal relations Organization Successful candidates must be willing to travel on occasion and work successfully in a customer focused, project oriented environment.

    Required Education/ExperienceBachelor of Electrical Engineering (BSEE) Five (5) or moreyears of industry experience performing studies in technical disciplines described in the Job Description section EIT certified and eligible to sit for the PE Exam Desired Education/ExperienceRegistered professional engineers (PE) or equivalent Power Systems focused MSEEA proven history of completing similar projects in a consulting environmentExperience in mentoring others and in providing technical and commercial leadership in customer focused engineering projects At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.

    The pay range for this position is $75k - $140k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
