Description

Reporting to the VP of Communications and Marketing, the Communications Manager will be responsible for an array of strategic communication projects including gathering assets and organizing an impactful and creative storytelling library for internal use (website, social media channels, and fundraising) as well as external and internal communications.

Essential Functions of the Position:

Responsible for creating engaging content that aligns with Houston SPCA's mission and voice, and addresses the needs and interests of multiple stakeholders.
Manage photography and videography production of assets needed to support pr, social media, fundraising efforts and more.
Responsible for collaborating with team members to develop a content strategy that promotes internal and external user engagement.
Outstanding editorial skills to develop and manage a proactive and robust editorial calendar, collaborate with the development team to ensure consistent brand messages for each channel, and advise internal and external stakeholders on effective methods for presenting content on the web and othe assets.
Serve as team liaison to manage critical internal relationships with other departments and ensure we communicate the Houston SPCA's mission optimally and accurately in all messaging.
Manage the communications and engagement on Google Reviews, LinkedIn, and social DMs.
Responsible for crafting weekly Pet of the Week photos, video and background on pet to share through various channels.
Ability to support and develop content strategies to grow followers.
Responsible for working in conjunction with other departments to promote organizational communication priorities.
Ability to develop original, full story "packages," including copy, interviews, and digital and visual content.
Responsible for growing the YouTube channel for Houston SPCA
Accountable for all marketing efforts for adoptable pets at Houston SPCA
Ensure photos are updated for adoptable pets page on website.
Responsible for providing all departments with creative support (signage, proposal formatting, flyers, and other printed materials) as time allows.
