    Description

    Job Purpose & Position Overview

    The Financial Analyst will report to the CFO of Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System. The successful candidate will be hands-on and assist in developing actionable data to assist administrative and board personnel in strategic financial planning, value-based care, and cost analysis. The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring organizational financial strength as WCHS continues to enhance its programs' quality and sustainability. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance and operations leader to maximize and strengthen the internal efficiency and capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.

    Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Demonstrate the WCHS's core mission, vision, and values.
    • Supports culture that ensures proper internal accounting controls throughout various divisions of the WCHS.
    • Provide financial summaries designed to guide decision-making.
    • Recognize opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth.
    • Prepare graphs and presentation materials.
    • Research and forecast the potential impact of operational changes to departmental and institutional budgets.
    • Gather, assess, and interpret financial data, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable data, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and use deductive reasoning skills to succinctly create models to convey results.
    • Provide data that create recommendations designed to help facilities reduce their healthcare delivery costs.
    • Make recommendations about cost allocations to ensure the company's financial viability.
    • Communicate findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, such as department heads, the board of directors, and healthcare administration staff.
    • Provide audit support to Finance and Accounting Manager as directed.
    • Collaborate with partners in financial analysis of operating and clinical results and value to the larger health ecosystem.
    • Support the financial team by creating reports and forecasts for short-range/long-term goal achievement.
    • Learn and assist with development of various systems and procedures around accounting software.
    • Retains a general proficiency of all day-to-day activities of the finance department.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications/Skills:
    • Four year degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, financial management, or business administration with a concentration in accounting or financial management.
    • CPA, MBA, CMA, CGFM, or similar certification preferred but not required, equivalent experience may be considered.
    • One year of accounting experience required. Experience in hospital/healthcare fiscal management or cost accounting preferred.
    • Experience in Tribal and/or Indian Health Service fiscal management is a plus.
    • Exceptionally skilled in Excel and proficient in all other Microsoft Office programs.
    • Knowledge and understanding of fiscal management including analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and identification of cost centers.
    • Knowledge of the Self-Determination and Educational Assistance Act as amended) is preferred.
    • Ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and persuasively.
    • Ability to condense large volumes of data into meaningful summaries that convey the overall message accurately.
    • Ability to problem-solve identified issues within the organization. Must be able to recognize shortcomings and effectively carry out solutions.
    • Ability to manage projects from the conceptual stage through completion.
    • Ability to operate computers and office management software required
    Training Requirements:
    • Must attend all department meetings and other training courses as directed by Accounting and Finance Manager.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
    • Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
    • While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
    Mental Requirements:
    • Reading, writing, calculating
    • Above average social interaction skills
    • Excellent reasoning/Analysis skills
    • Works with minimal supervision.
    Language Requirements:
    • Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
    • Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
