Location:Chicagoland, IL / Full Remote Position (potential option for hybrid)

$80K + / Commensurate with Experience


This is a mid-level position as an HR Specialist and Staff Coordinator to assist the AppTier team in all aspects of HR and Staff Coordination duties needed.

As part of a growing and dynamic software services and cloud solution organization, the HR Specialist & Staff Coordinator will work with the Director of Accounting / Controller and other key project employees on Human Resource related tasks and employee management.

More specifically, the HR Specialist and Staff Coordinator shall assist in payroll preparation and calculation, employee timesheet adherence and approval, as well as onboarding and offboarding of employees.

Much of this role will be in Recruiting and implementing and overseeing HR policies and procedures prescribed in the company handbook.

Finally, the person in this role will govern and oversee individual employee training and development progress.
Must live in Chicago or the Chicagoland area.
In further detail, the HR Specialist and Staff Coordinator shall focus upon the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinating interviews for the Leadership Team
  • Assisting in communication of Offer Letters, Acceptance, and start dates for the new hires
  • Research on terminology and formats for creation of HR policies
  • Annual Benefits Renewals
  • New Hire enrollments in Benefits and 401k
  • Monitoring Utilization and Time Off requests in conjunction with the Director of Accounting
  • Payroll preparation
  • State Taxes Registration
  • On-Boarding / Off-Boarding
  • Work with various team members to refresh and enhance onboarding materials
  • Occasional administrative support to employees / Executive Assistant support
  • Ensure employees are progressing in training and development in conjunction with management
  • Prior related experience and/or bachelor's degree is a preference
  • Strong experience with MS Office and specifically Excel
  • Experience with writing and developing work instructions and procedures
  • Experience or familiarity with payroll processing
  • Experience in technical recruiting
  • Knowledge of Software Lifecycle and other IT programs and solutions

Pay:
From $80,000.00 per year
