Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Buyer Purchasing 3 in Mossville, IL. The work will be done onsite three days a week. The rest will be work-from-home. This is a long term contract. It can lead to permanent employment with our customer. Compensation is $30/hr + benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401K, and holiday pay).Job DescriptionPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team.

The primary role of this position is to purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services essential for our organization's operations.

The Buyer will be responsible for making informed and strategic purchasing decisions, ensuring the procurement of high-quality merchandise at the most cost-effective prices.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and optimize supplier selections based on various factors including price, quality, service, and availability.
• Approve purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions to ensure the procurement of the right goods and services.
• Provide guidance to the team on resolving issues related to undelivered goods and on negotiation and renegotiation strategies.
• Engage with vendors and internal stakeholders to address and rectify any issues with goods or services, ensuring alignment with contractual agreements.
• Monitor and evaluate contract performance to ensure compliance and assess the need for amendments.
• Manage inventory effectively, adopting a justintime approach.
• Represent the organization at trade shows to stay updated on industry trends and establish valuable contacts.

Typical Day

• Engage in negotiations with suppliers, review financial reports and proposals, and make purchase decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs and provide updates on order statuses.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring consistent supply and addressing any quality or delivery issues.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related business field.
• 57 years of financerelated experience in a procurement or purchasing role.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in analyzing financial reports and technical data to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Knowledgeable in mentoring staff, providing support and performance feedback.
• Strong understanding of supply chain management and relevant laws and regulations.

Soft Skills

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to document and record information accurately and efficiently.

Disqualifiers/Red Flags

• Lack of the required educational background or experience.
• Inability to demonstrate essential technical or soft skills.
