JOB DESCRIPTION


The Messel Pit World Heritage Site gGmbH is responsible for promoting the oldest UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in Germany: the Messel Pit.

Its task is to preserve the UNESCO World Heritage Site and make it accessible to the public. We offer guided tours of the Messel Pit all year round.

The Messel Pit is a decommissioned oil shale quarry, providing a unique insight into an ecosystem from 48 million years ago.

In the visitor and museum area, we operate a bistro with approximately 80 seats and a terrace.

We are currently looking for a Head of Service (m/f/d) for the bistro at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Messel Pit, either part-time or full-time.

The position is initially limited to two years.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Serving guests at the bistro (advising guests, providing service)
  • Purchasing, accounting, and cash management
  • Preparation of food and drinks
  • Compliance with hygiene standards
