    AMHC is searching for an

    Accounting Manager

    at our

    Central Office in Presque Isle . The

    Accounting Manager


    is responsible for overseeing accounts payable operations and accounting team operations, by offering supervision and assistance to staff in the performance of their duties.

    In carrying out this responsibility, the Manager works collaboratively and in coordination with all members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), as well as teams across the agency.

    Qualifications:
    A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required, AND 3 years experience in a management capacity
    Responsibilities & Expectations

    Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation; assists in the recruitment and hiring of accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.

    Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
    Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.

    Oversees preparation of program reports and financial forecasts; assists the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer in annual agency budget development.

    Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

    Coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
    Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
    Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
    Research billing, collections, general accounts receivable information, and general ledger inquiries required to manage the finance department.

    Responds to written and verbal inquiries regarding AMHC finances from a variety of internal and external sources to resolve problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel and/or identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan to respond to the inquiry.

    Provides applicable finance reports and analysis consistently to the Senior Leadership Team.

    Responsible for the oversight of all activities necessary for monthly, quarterly, and yearly HUD-related activities as assigned by the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer.

    Overseeing and ensuring general ledger and other related reconciliations are done accurately and timely.
