Description
Maintenance SupervisorResponsibilities:
Supervise the troubleshooting and repair of all plant equipment, including conveyors, mixers, ovens, fryers, motors, pumps, ammonia systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Foster a culture of safety and quality by adhering to GMPs, USDA/FDA guidelines, HACCP, HAZMAT protocols, and preventive maintenance procedures.
Train and develop your team and other plant personnel in quality/safety processes, new equipment operation, and best practices. Serve as the technical expert, providing guidance and support to maintenance management to optimize plant operations. Proactively identify and resolve potential issues that could impact production efficiency. Lead your team in prioritizing work orders based on production goals. Champion continuous improvement initiatives, implementing innovative techniques and best practices. Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance engineers, to refine maintenance methods and processes. Manage the MP2 work order system, analyze data, and generate reports. Ensure all work is performed safely and adheres to company standards. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, effectively communicating with supervisors, inspectors, and other personnel. Develop and assign work tasks, maintaining daily work status updates. Establish maintenance schedules and create repair estimates. Enforce adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Maintain critical departmental reports and records, including PMs, work orders, maintenance programs, and USDA compliance documentation. Implement and maintain a skills assessment program for team members. Support the root-cause analysis program to identify and address equipment failures. Maintain a deep understanding of safety regulations, USDA, QA, HACCP, sanitation protocols, and company policies. Demonstrate a consistent record of reliable attendance and punctuality.Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, refrigeration, boilers, and facilities management. Technical Associate's degree in a relevant field preferred, Bachelor's degree a plus. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a strong plus. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are a plus. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects effectively, and meet deadlines. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Proficiency in MP2 or similar CMMS software is preferred.
