- This position will liaise between customers and the service department.
- Greet customers and inquire about their vehicle service needs.
- Listen to customers' concerns, issues, and descriptions of vehicle problems.
- Perform a walk-around on every vehicle with the customer, engaging them in the process and topping off the windshield washer fluid.
- After inspection, inform customers of any bodywork that may need to be completed and provide an estimate.
- Communicate effectively to understand and document vehicle issues accurately.
- Explain service processes, cost estimates, and repair/maintenance options to customers.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and timely completion of repairs.
- Check every vehicle for applicable warranties and open recalls.
- Monitor work progress and inform customers of any changes or delays in service timelines.
- Prepare accurate and detailed repair orders, ensuring that all customer requests and service recommendations are documented.
- When appropriate, educate customers about additional GM maintenance services or products that can benefit their vehicles.
- Offer alternative transportation to the customer, i.e., Berger's pick-up and delivery shuttle services.
- Handle customer payments, process transactions, and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Inform customers on our CSI survey to continuously improve our service quality.
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments, vehicle work progress, and price quotes.
- Occasionally schedule service appointments.
- Attend training and department meetings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to provide customers with a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned through continued employment.
