    Mile Two is currently looking for its next Software Engineer with 3 or more years of professional experience and can reliably develop and deliver software development tasks. They are comfortable working as a member of a project team and are interested in learning, implementing, and communicating using design patterns and best practices.

    While fully remote is acceptable for this position, candidates should be informed that working east coast business hours will be required for this role.

    Expected scenarios you are comfortable executing:

    • Ability to build a static web page from a provided design using best practices.
    • Break down a page design into relevant components, create those components in a relevant language such as React, and connect to an API. Create and track relevant stories associated with the design within the work week and write Unit tests for those components.
    • Research appropriate libraries to execute function, reporting both the pros and cons of those solutions to help make architecture decisions.
    • Create working API endpoints to show and fetch data.
    • Work with existing code structure and methodologies.
    Requirements:

    REQUIRED:

    • Strong fundamentals in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (Experience with frontend frameworks is preferred)
    • API development experience (REST/GRAPHQL)
    • Experience building applications with , Python, or Golang
    • Experience collaborating using version control systems
    • Can work on small or large teams
    • Experience with SQL and Database Patterns
    • Familiarity with Docker environments
    • Can take functionality and push features in a timely manner with some oversight from a senior developer
    • Experience working with DoD or other government agency customers
    • Secret Clearance

    DESIRED:

    • Experience with Government contracts and customers
    • Experience with transitioning R&D products into production environments
    • Ability to hold a clearance or active clearance
    • GraphQL / Apollo / TypeORM / Prisma / Gorm

    LEADERSHIP:

    • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options on how to progress
    • Motivate and mentor junior team members
    • Understand and implement the Mile Two iterative design process within the team.
    • Promote the Mile Two culture and core values within the project team.
