Job Overview:
As a Deck Laborer/Helper, you'll work alongside our lead carpenter to construct, repair, and install decks for residential and commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with deck construction tasks, including layout, framing, decking installation, and finishing, roofing, electrical work, glass installation, concrete finishing, and heavy equipment operation (occasionally).
- Learning construction techniques and best practices under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Communicating with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborating with team members to complete projects on time and to our high standards of quality.
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Operate hand tools and power tools as required
- Perform general labor duties as assigned
Experience:
- Previous experience in construction or related field is preferred but not required (will train as needed)
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics or blueprints is a plus
Requirements:
- A strong interest in carpentry and a willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and materials.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn on the job
- Fluent in English
Note:
This position may require working at heights and is weather-dependent (No work when raining hard enough)
