    PeaceHealth Medical Group / St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team. Join our 125-member multi-specialty group. St John Medical Center is a Level III, 193-bed, state of the art, community, not-for profit medical center.

    PeaceHealth's community of health care professionals in southwest Washington includes St.

    • First year salary amount: $131,289.60 to $154,377.60 depending on direct NP/PA experience

    Job Summary


    Within scope of practice and in alignment with both hospital staff bylaws and PHMGs physician supervision expectations, responsible for advanced level of nursing evaluation, clinical assessment, prescribing and monitoring medications and follow-up care for patient.

    Responsible for patient and family teaching.

    Essential Functions


    • Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.
    • Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral.
    • Gives directions to nursing and other staff.
    • Prescribes medications and treatments and ongoing medication management. Orders lab and diagnostic tests when appropriate and interprets test results.
    • Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
    • Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations according to established standards.
    • Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Required: . Must fulfill educational requirements to obtain ARNP license in State of Practice
    Experience

    Credentials


    • Required : Nurse Practitioner - Washington or ability to obtain during credentialing process
    • Required : Drug Enforcement Admin and
    • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support and
    • Preferred : Advanced Cardiac Life Support
    Skills


    • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs. (Required)
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills (Required)
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patient, families, nursing staff, and other departments. (Required)
    • Personal responsibility for ongoing educational growth and collaborating with others to provide solutions for continued patient quality. (Required)
