SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Completion of detailed plans and technical drawings for utilities infrastructure projects, including fiber optics, electric, gas, and water.
Work closely with designers and managers to interpret project scope and design specifications.
Identify publicly available datasets at the municipal, county, state and federal level.
Prepare project maps and data for field data collection and utilities plans.
Perform site visits for field data collection using ArcGIS Field Maps and UAV Drones.
Manage and maintain GIS databases for utility engineering projects.
Assist with mapping and GIS analysis, spatial analysis, and data collection using GPS and other technologies.
Import and Export various file types from AutoCAD and GIS.
Ensure GIS database performance by monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving problems, and recommending improvements.
Experience with ArcGIS PRO, extensions, and geoprocessing tools.
Experience with Python and Automation.
Contribute to fiber optic network layout and project implementation.
Contribute to development of operational processes and programs.
Create dashboards to track project metrics, production, and various data.
Stay informed and trained on the latest technologies for interactive map and graphics development.

Requirements:

Certificate or associate degree in GIS, Geography, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with GIS in a utility or engineering environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data.
Experience in developing and maintaining GIS data models and workflows.
Strong proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and other similar software.
Experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript, and Lisp routines.
Experience with various FTTH Architectures and Automated Fiber Optic Network Design.
Data collection using ArcGIS Field Maps, ikeGPS, Katapult Pro, or similar software.
Data collection utilizing UAV Drones and mobile collection methods.
Data processing of point cloud LiDAR and Photogrammetry.
Experience with utility owner software including ArcGIS PRO, 3GIS, ARAMIS, IQGeo, Magellan, PRISM, QGIS, SmallWorld, STORMS.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
