    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for directing plant operations for Dalton State College.

    Annual salary Range $71,265 - $92,645, based on education and experience.

    Responsibilities

    Performs management and supervisory duties. - 45%
    - Hires, trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates and disciplines personnel.
    - Develops and manages budgets; control expenditures.
    - Renders decisions on operational and personnel matters in accordance with state and Board of Regents policies.
    - Develops and implements maintenance schedules.
    - Directs and coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules.

    Directs maintenance and construction activities. - 45%
    - Provides oversight and direction for capital projects; develops task lists and ensures projects are on schedule, within costs, and provide quality outcomes.
    - Manages the work of contractors.
    - Manages grounds maintenance and landscaping operations.
    - Manages the custodial maintenance of campus buildings.
    - Manages college utility services.
    - Manages the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
    - Manages the maintenance of the college's vehicle fleet.

    Performs a variety of related duties. - 10%
    - Completes a variety of regular and special reports.
    - Directs the management of an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements
    - Bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field, or equivalent education and work experience.

    Required Experience
    - More than five years of related experience required.

    Other Required Qualifications
    - Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

    - Master's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.

    - Knowledge of facilities operations, maintenance and management principles and practices.
    - Knowledge of budget development and management principles.
    - Knowledge of the principles and practices of the construction trades.
    - Knowledge of college purchasing policies and procedures.
    - Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.

    SKILLS
    - Skill in the delegation of responsibility and authority.
    - Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.
    - Skill in decision making and problem solving.
    - Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
    - Skill in oral and written communication.
