Essential Functions

Assist with a variety of tasks involving the set up, construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of various structures and products

Complete basic woodworking and construction assignments

Assist with tool and equipment maintenance

Obtain and move tools, supplies, and materials

Load and unload trucks + occasional pick up and delivery of tools, supplies, and materials

Maintain a clean, safe, and operational worksite
Qualifications:
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Basic knowledge and use of hand and power tools preferred
Some building trade, shop, and/or warehouse experience preferred
Licenses and Other Requirements
Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation
Personal set of hand tools required on work site at all times
Work in this classification is considered medium physical work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Basic knowledge of:
- Tools, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques used in a carpentry setting
- General safety precautions and procedures, including proper lifting techniques
Ability to:
- Assist in the preparation, construction, alteration, installation, finishing, maintenance, repair, and clean up of various structures and products
- Effectively and safely operate basic hand and power tools
- Inspect and assess the accuracy and thoroughness of work
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Travel to jobsite locations and work in diverse settings as needed
- Observe legal and defensive driving techniques while operating motor vehicles
- Consistently report to work or job site on time with required tools and materials as directed
- Work in a proficient, thorough, and timely manner, both independently and as part of a team
Environment
- Regular exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, vibrations, and loud noises
- Working on ladders at varying heights
- Driving a vehicle to conduct work
- Working in direct contact with project managers, shop managers, and other staff
- Work in this classification is considered medium physical work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally
- Occasional bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Climbing ladders and working from heights as necessary
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools, equipment, and machinery
- Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform work assignments
- Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities required for effective communication
