The training duration is 3 years.

The University of Konstanz is one of eleven universities of excellence in Germany and has been funded since 2007 in the Excellence Initiative and its successor program, the Excellence Strategy of the Federal Government and the States.

The training position is located in the Animal Research Facility (TFA). This is an independent central facility of the University of Konstanz with the task of providing the necessary conditions for the animal experimental work of the researchers at the university in a manner that is compliant with animal welfare regulations. It is therefore equally committed to research and animal welfare. The TFA provides high-quality laboratory animals to researchers. These animals are kept and bred according to European recognized recommendations for housing and hygiene, thus providing an excellent basis for scientific experiments in the biomedical field.

Training content
  • Includes all tasks that arise in a laboratory animal facility, especially breeding and care, including feeding, marking and biopsy sampling, management of animals using an electronic animal management program, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization work within a strict hygiene plan

  • The minimum requirement is a secondary school leaving certificate
  • Above-average performance in German, biology and mathematics,
