Summary
Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty as a maintenance worker.

An employee in this position is responsible for aiding with and independently performing duties directed towards the general maintenance of the Lake County Health Department buildings, grounds and equipment.

Work involves the responsibility for the performance of specialized maintenance and repair operations.

General assignments are received from a supervisor, but maintenance personnel are expected to plan details of job and carry it to completion, without immediate supervision and in accordance with standard trade practice.

Work is performed according to prescribed policies and procedures. Employees report to the Facilities Supervisor.


Scheduled Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Essential Functions

  • Performs General tasks in lawn maintenance.
  • Performs general maintenance tasks such as moving furniture and room setup, including placement of equipment and furnishings and installations of shelves.
  • Performs limited maintenance tasks in such areas as carpentry, painting and plastering.
  • Observation of Basic plumbing, and electrical task.
  • Cleans up workspace after completion of project.
  • Ensures that all tools and equipment have been returned to the proper location.
  • Keeps vehicle in a neat and clean appearance.
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely manner.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required

  • Successful completion of a standard high school or GED program.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge operating lawn care equipment.
  • Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items such as office furniture.
  • Be able to carry and lift weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic Knowledge of Maintenance Functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to provide composite or steel toed boots.

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary


Pay:
$ $19.90 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Morning shift

  • Waukegan, IL 60085: Relocate before starting work (required)
