    Commercial Construction Senior Superintendent

    Job Description:

    A Senior Superintendent (Supt.) oversees project workflow on site, ensuring alignment with project schedule, HITT safety, and quality standards. Acting as a link between project team members, the Senior Supt. advocates for both business and client interests, embodying characteristics of a mid-level leader. They communicate project priorities to site staff and subcontractors, taking the lead on-site for the construction project.

    Responsibilities

    • Implementing the HITT safety program for all subcontractors, ensuring prompt reporting and investigation of accidents/incidents, and collaborating on safety inspections
    • Upholding HITT quality standards across all project aspects
    • Leading on-site safety efforts to maintain a secure work environment
    • Recording daily activities and site conditions, managing the punch list and closure process
    • Collaborating with the project manager to develop and follow project schedule, adhering to quality standards
    • Fostering relationships with subcontractors and the community to enhance business opportunities
    • Ensuring accurate documentation, understanding subcontractor work scopes, and proactively addressing issues
    • Organizing the site team, arranging temporary facilities, and expediting long lead items
    • Engaging with the project manager and site operations team throughout the project's duration

    Qualifications

    • Preferred: Four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business; or relevant work experience
    • 8-10 years of commercial construction experience, including with a commercial general contractor
    • Experience in tenant renovations, service work, occupied spaces, fast-paced projects is advantageous
    • Proficiency in building processes and best practices
    • Ability to coordinate resources to meet deadlines and achieve results
    • Prior project lead experience is beneficial
    • Familiarity with industry software systems
    • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred
    • Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and commitment to continuous improvement
    • Capacity to adapt to technological advancements and collaborate effectively
    • Demonstrated integrity and respect in all interactions
