    Based on the compensation range we are advertising, the starting salary offer will be determined based on the successful candidates' qualifications within the budgeted salary range of $56,000 - $80,000 annually.

    However, there is ability for longevity growth and progression in salary for the individual once employed.

    What this job is about:


    The Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist contributes to ensuring AmeriCorps grantees comply with all applicable state and federal regulations and contract provisions by conducting annual audits on Serve Washington policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.

    This role includes staying current on AmeriCorps regulations, as well as assisting with developing processes, resources and training materials, while working closely with each program's assigned Program Officer as they coach and support AmeriCorps program staff.

    • Develop expertise in federal and state rules and regulations governing AmeriCorps state and national grants.
    • Develop expertise in grant making initiatives outside of AmeriCorps.
    • Conduct risk-assessments of grantees and develop an appropriate program monitoring plan for each grantee based on risk-assessment results.
    • In conjunction with the Program Officers, conduct grant monitoring audits, including in-person site visits and documentation review, as outlined in the yearly Monitoring Plan.
    • Lead the National Service Criminal History Check (NSCHC) training and compliance monitoring process; ensure all programs are enrolled and utilizing NSCHC vendors (Truescreen and Fieldprint) or other approved means.
    • Support the annual analysis of SW's grantee portfolio risk-based Monitoring Plan; provide recommendations based on prior years monitoring.
    • Stay up to date, reviews, and analyzes federal regulations, state laws and AmeriCorps requirements to develop appropriate policies, procedures, and interpretation to guide successful implementation of subgrantee programs, along with all Serve Washington and Commission staff.
    • Collaborate with Director of Programs and other members of the AmeriCorps portfolio team in developing, reviewing and updating annual Program Handbook; ensure federal and state compliance.
    • Review all programs/subgrantees' policies for: subgrantee NSCHS policy/procedure; Member Service Year templates; and Host Site MOUs at the beginning of each PY.
    • Conduct annual internal audits on Serve Washington policies and procedures to ensure alignment with all state and federal regulations; create and revise documentation as needed.
    • Contribute to the assessment of current processes and tools to assess gaps, and improve prevention of compliance issues.
    • Collaborate with other team leaders to solve problems regarding issues and concerns affecting Serve Washington strategies by utilizing open communication, strategic problem solving, root cause analysis, process improvement; creates resolutions; communicate decisions to Executive Director and Deputy Director for final decision(s) once recommendations for resolution have been identified.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 4 years of concurrent and/or cumulative experience in the following:
    • Experience interpreting complex state and federal policies, rules, and regulations (preferably AmeriCorps).
    • Experience conducting state/federal grant monitoring and compliance.
    • Experience delivering training and technical assistance on grant requirements.
    • 1 year utilizing continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
    • Experience working effectively with all levels of an organization, one on one development and team development.
    • Ability to work with data to measure operational performance and compliance.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in public administration, organizational development, applied behavioral sciences, human resources management, business administration or other related field.
    • Note: Relevant professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis

    Relevant experience includes:
    expert knowledge of AmeriCorps rules and regulations, auditing experience, grant management and compliance efforts.


    • Experience with AmeriCorps and National Service.
    • Experience with legislative process and high-level stakeholder engagements; preparing and facilitating communication Lean training, certification and application.
