Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO), an Illinois non-profit 501-c3 organization, was founded in 1989 to raise the quality of life for people experiencing homelessness in the Uptown area of Chicago.

For over thirty years, CCO's programs have expanded to serve nearly 500 men, women and children daily. With Cornerstone's help these families and individuals can begin to build a new life, one step at a time.

CCO has a long standing commitment to providing shelter and finding homes for families and individuals who are at the greatest risk of being excluded from necessary services.

CCO operates 3 main shelters, Hannah, Sylvia, and Naomi, out of our two main facilities on Clifton Ave.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
• Operate CCTV systems and other security equipment to detect and prevent unauthorized activities.
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and employees with inquiries and directions. Maintain safety and compliance amongst residents in the program.
• Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain order and prevent theft/vandalism.
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of securityrelated activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position
• Strong observation and surveillance skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and composed in highstress situations
• Knowledge of basic security procedures and protocols
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and other security equipment is a plus
• Must be able to pass a background check

Note:
Loss prevention experience is highly desirable, but not required for this position.


Pay:
$ $17.50 per hour
