Surgical Counselor:


Job Summary:


Responsibilities:


  • Provide guidance and support to patients who are undergoing surgical procedures
  • Understanding of Lasik and Cataract surgery would be a huge plus.
  • Explain surgical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have
  • Assist patients with preoperative preparations, including scheduling appointments and arranging transportation
  • Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available for each procedure
  • Monitor patients during and after surgery to ensure that they are comfortable and recovering properly
  • Provide postoperative care instructions to patients and answer any questions they may have
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of patient care
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a medical office or hospital setting
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience working in an ophthalmology office
  • Experience working with electronic medical records
