- Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI/ML and data science in healthcare and apply relevant methodologies and techniques to solve program-related challenges. Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field such as computer science, data science, statistics, or a related discipline. Must have received a doctorate within the last five years and may only be appointed to this title for five years. - Strong background in machine learning, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and statistical modeling.

Position Summary
This Postdoctoral Research Associate conducts research in the area of machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and rural medicine. This innovative role will combine the expertise from the nationally and internationally recognized Rural Medical Education Program (RMED), housed in the NRHP, at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford with a mentor and support from CHEMA.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also be affiliated CHEMA and expected to participate in monthly seminars with other postdoctoral research associates in the UIC College of Medicine. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will have a mentoring committee that includes faculty and experts from the fields of rural health AI/ML, family and community medicine, and research design/analysis to support professional development. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also participate in a research mentorship program including writing groups to provide support for grant submissions for all types of awards offered at the Rockford and Chicago campuses.
