This position is responsible for identifying and maintaining records of business personal property and for ensuring compliance with the Texas Occupation Tax Code.
Examples of Duties
Monitors and maintains coin-operated machine permits; enforces coin-operated license and permit requirements; maintains related inventory reports.
Performs field inspections of business sites.
Determines license and permit fees.
Mails licenses and permits to business officers.
Maintains accurate up-to-date records of business owners.
Provides information to the public as requested; assists taxpayers with motor vehicle inquiries.
Processes motor vehicle renewals, permits and transfers.
Resolves complex motor vehicle issues.
Sends letters to registered motor vehicle owners who may have an interest in the vehicle.
Maintains files and records.
Processes passport applications.
Assists in receiving payments, processing transmittals, preparing packages to be mailed, closing cashboxes and running reports.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Must have at least one ( 1 ) year of related work experience.

Knowledge of the occupational tax code.
Knowledge of the transportation code.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
Skill in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the work of personnel.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
Valid Texas Driver License* *If applicant holds an out-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained prior to employment.
