    Description


    This position is responsible for identifying and maintaining records of business personal property and for ensuring compliance with the Texas Occupation Tax Code.

    Examples of Duties


    • Monitors and maintains coin-operated machine permits; enforces coin-operated license and permit requirements; maintains related inventory reports.
    • Performs field inspections of business sites.
    • Determines license and permit fees.
    • Mails licenses and permits to business officers.
    • Maintains accurate up-to-date records of business owners.
    • Provides information to the public as requested; assists taxpayers with motor vehicle inquiries.
    • Processes motor vehicle renewals, permits and transfers.
    • Resolves complex motor vehicle issues.
    • Sends letters to registered motor vehicle owners who may have an interest in the vehicle.
    • Maintains files and records.
    • Processes passport applications.
    • Assists in receiving payments, processing transmittals, preparing packages to be mailed, closing cashboxes and running reports.
    • Performs any other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications


    • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
    • Must have at least one ( 1 ) year of related work experience.
    Supplemental Information


    • Knowledge of the occupational tax code.
    • Knowledge of the transportation code.
    • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
    • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
    • Skill in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the work of personnel.
    • Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
    • Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports.
    • Skill in oral and written communication.
    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.


    Valid Texas Driver License** If applicant holds an out-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained prior to employment.
