- Licensure: Not Applicable Certifications: Expressive Therapy certification by the professional organization in the area(s) of expertise.
- Registrations: Candidate to be registered or registry-eligible and actively pursuing clinical registry with one of the expressive therapy national associations.
- Experience: At least the equivalent of 2 years experience, which can include a graduate level practicum/internship (20 hours per week for 2 semesters or 40 hours per week for 3 months) is preferred. Experience must include work with the psychiatric inpatient population.
- Expressive Therapist will receive individual, clinical supervision and, with supervisor, will participate in establishing an educational plan. The plan will include specific training, teamwork with other activity therapy staff, and close supervision for on the job training when in a new area.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The expressive arts therapist is responsible for providing expressive therapy services to patients, as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in accordance with Dominion Hospitals activity therapy work policy. Expressive therapy interventions are focused on helping the patient develop a stronger sense of self by promoting the identification and expression of feelings through participation in the creation and sharing of personal work, to include visual art, dance/movement, poetry, writing, drama or music.
