Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES- Engage potential external clients by addressing their inquiries, offering guided tours of the venues and providing price quotes- Work alongside other PLNU departments to plan and request approval for internal events- Negotiate and finalize contracts- Coordinate all logístical details leading up to the event- Work with staff to provide on-site supervision of events- Optimize the utilization of the LSCC for summer conferences and events to enhance their effectiveness and maximize the impactServe as Events Manager at Liberty Station Conference Center & Mission Valley Regional Center- Serve as the Manager of Liberty Station Conference Center- Communicate and partner with the School of Nursing and other academic departments, making them aware of relevant building updates and information Work with the VP of University Services to establish and maintain strategic community partnerships Work in collaboration with the PLNU Department of Public Safety along with on-site Public Safety Officers, coordinating with their supervisor to ensure comprehensive safety coverage for the LSCC Work to create a positive and constructive working environment and foster relationships with stakeholders, clients, and the community Assist in monitoring building maintenance, equipment, furniture, parking, and other facility-related resources Suggest needed upgrades and additions to the LSCC when needed Collaborate with Sodexo Custodial to ensure all spaces are clean and professional for all users of the LSCCCreate an LSCC weekly report of space use and send it to the appropriate PLNU personnel Maintain policies for the use and upkeep of the building Serve as Academic Scheduler for the Liberty Station regional campus courses- In collaboration with the Director of Operations of TUG Colleges and the School of Nursing Programs Manager for Post-Licensure programs, schedule courses for each semester using Astra Schedule software Communicate room assignments to the Records Office for Workday upload Work with key academic stakeholders on reviewing and editing the LSCC Finals Week Schedule for each semester Work with key academic stakeholders to ensure adequate CUP compliance on the Point Loma Campus for units delivered to LSCC Work with the PLNU Department of Transportation to confirm shuttle schedules for each semester and finals week Oversee the LSCC Finances & Accounting- Oversee the fiscal budget for LSCC- Use appropriate metrics and pricing structures to offer quotes for the various PLNU internal events- Create/process invoices and payments made to the LSCC- Purchase necessary supplies for LSCC- Manage all LSCC/MVRC event staff members and student workers- Oversee the hiring and training process when these roles need to be filled Develop and implement growth and marketing opportunities at the LSCC/MVRC to maximize revenue and space usage- Meet the public use guidelines associated with Liberty Station Conference Center Complete annual reports required to prove compliance When appropriate, act as the Emergency Response Contact- Perform other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree required- Three to five years of administrative and/or customer service experience required- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with a variety of different types of people required- Ability to learn new technology and media systems quickly and then teach others- Proficiency in the Google Office suite will be expected through experience and/or training- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with various audiences such as vendors, staff, faculty, industry partners, and the community- Comfortability working in an independent, entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to initiate process improvements and quickly learn regulatory information- Attention to detail paired with excellent organizational skills, ability to keep track of multiple projects and deadlines- Flexibility to adjust expected tasks and schedules to the updated priorities and problem-solve when event logistics change- Willingness to go above and beyond the requirements of the job to be innovative and supportive- An articulate, professional demeanor- Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement.
