Meat Production Manager - Grand Rapids, United States - Superior Foods Company

• Effectively direct and supervise meat department.
• Plan, organize, and run optimum daytoday operations to exceed our customers' expectations.
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
• Oversee assignments in the Meat Room for sameday or future orders.
• Works with management to ensure adequate inventory is prepared to meet production needs and helps forecast future needs.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and labor laws, OSHA regulations and EEOC requirements ensuring that the work environment is safe and free from discrimination and harassment.
• Ensures all products meet company and regulatory standards for quality and safety.
• Prepare and maintain production reports, including daily output and inventory logs.
• Communicate regularly with upper management regarding product status and any issues.
• Promote a culture of safety within the team.
• Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.

• Minimum of 25 years' experience in production areas.
• Quality Control.
• Relevant certifications in food processing a plus.
• Proven managerial experience.
• Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
• High school diploma, required.
• Some college coursework, preferred.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work early mornings.
• Ability to work in cold refrigerated environment.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 to 10hour periods.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
