- Own hardware from concept generation to real world use
- Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to production
- Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
- Travel to test sites as needed
- 7+ years of Opto-Mechanical professional working experience
- Demonstrated expertise in sensor integration and/or selection, including hands-on experience with various sensor technologies (lenses, cameras, binoculars, monoculars, etc.) and their application in mechanical systems
- Proven track record of successfully taking projects from initial concept to production
- CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards
- Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
- High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles
- BS, M.Eng, MS or PhD in an engineering field
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
- Experience in NX/Teamcenter
- Knowledge and application of GD&T techniques and associated metrology approaches
- Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (motors, controllers, sensors, etc.)
- Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and 3D printing US Salary Range$142,000—$213,000 USD
