    Description

    BBSI is excited to be recruiting a Furnace Operator for our aerospace manufacturing client in SE Portland.

    The Furnace Operator oversees operation of the vacuum and air casting processes to ensure production goals are met. Each day, these individuals perform tasks such as:

    • Training and working in all metal and casting prep functions.
    • Preparing schedules, equipment, metal, and molds prior to furnace operation
    • Efficiently melting and pouring alloys into molds
    • Maintaining furnaces and support equipment to minimize downtime and maximize furnace output
    • Safely operating Vacuum and Air Furnaces
    Client-specific training is provided on-the-job, however, we're seeking experienced Furnace Operators with a solid work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to help train and educate new operators. Specifically, we're looking for qualifications such as:
    • Working knowledge of vacuum and air furnace operation, as evidenced by work history that includes at least 2 years in furnace operation, foundry work, heat treat operation OR similar.
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations with high accuracy (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, graphing)
    • Ability to read, interpret, and follow written directions and schematics.
    • Effective written and oral communication
