This position involves batch compilation, sample delivery, and retrieval, plus various support activities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Ÿ

Batch compilation:
Ÿ Collect and organize samples for sample preparation using production management tools.

Ÿ Collect and organize calibration/control/internal standard/blank materials for sample preparation.

Ÿ Compile and label tubes/vials for sample preparation

Ÿ Transport batch delivery and pick-up from testing departments

Ÿ Retrieve & transport specimens under COC from Processing to Lab

Ÿ Re-stock laboratory supplies as needed.

Ÿ Monitor equipment maintenance through TempTrak; clean and respond to alerts as needed.

Ÿ Re-locate samples/QC materials in the event a unit goes down.

Ÿ Participate in departmental meetings and projects.

Ÿ Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Ÿ Other duties as assigned.

- Ÿ Must be detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ÿ Must be flexible in scheduling and available for overtime as required.
- Ÿ Good customer service focus and ability to work as part of a team.

Physical Demands
Ÿ Ability to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to manipulate computer keyboard, objects, or controls.

Ÿ Requires walking from one work location to another throughout the shift.

Ÿ Sitting and standing for extended periods of time

Ÿ Lifting and carrying objects up to 10 pounds

Ÿ Specific vision abilities (with correction) include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

- Ÿ Exposure to intermittent or constant sounds generated by equipment.
- Ÿ Exposure to fumes, noxious odors and dust
- Ÿ Handling of biological material and blood-borne pathogens
- Ÿ Handling of toxic or caustic chemicals
