    Description

    Job Description

    The Test Software Engineer role involves designing and developing test system software and hardware within the operations environments of the Global Supply Chain. The tasks include developing software applications for real-time automated test system solutions.

    • Design and develop test systems on a National Instruments based standard test platform for new product introductions.
    • Debug and improve test software and firmware on production and service testers.
    • Identify hardware in test systems and design product interface fixtures.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation.
    • Develop software for interaction with microcontrollers, test equipment, and databases.
    • Write modular software for reuse across different testers.
    • Follow Agile and Lean software development methodologies.
    • Experience in PCBA and electronic system testing.
    • Document specifications, change control processes, and validation.
    • Knowledge of communication protocols: I2C, SPI, RS232/RS422/RS485, USB, UART.
    • Analyze trade-offs between performance, manufacturability, and cost.

    Additional preferred skills:

    • Expertise in NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand.
    • Experience in C/C++ for test firmware development.
    • Experience in Python and PyQt for test software development.
    • Proficient in using DMM, power supply, oscilloscope, and other lab equipment.
    • Familiarity with medical device regulations and governance documents.
    • Capability to translate complex technical information effectively within the organization.
    • Lean and six sigma certifications.
    • Strong leadership and influence skills.
    • Professional interaction within cross-functional teams and external representatives.

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
    • 3-4 years of experience required.
