  • Overseeing the scheduling of xrays and other tests as needed, as well as obtaining Xrays or test results prior to the appointment
  • Following up on tests, pathology reports, and correspondence as needed for physician
  • Following up on medical care ordered during appointments
  • Receiving, answering, screening, and directing telephone calls in a courteous and timely manner, and ensuring the delivery/forwarding of messages to appropriate parties.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized general work area.
  • Assist medical providers with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments as directed.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or required.
  • Preparing Prior authorization for appointments/tests and Procedures including but not limited to inoffice and ambulatory surgery center
  • Responding to requests for information from patients, patients' families, and other external or internal sources in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Assisting patients with billing problems by identifying personnel to help patients solve financial problems
  • Communicating with the Clinic MA to ensure that clinic billing sheets are completed by the physician team and sent over to the Practice Administrator for month end closure and processing
  • Ensuring the maintenance and safekeeping of all patient files and charts/ EMR records.
  • Obtaining and submitting documentation for reimbursable expenses.
  • Establishing and maintaining a system for filing and retrieving correspondence and documentation for the Practice Administrator including a database of clinical information.
  • Creating spreadsheets and establishing data bases to produce recurring reports or special reports as needed
  • Responsible for recording and reporting monthly clinic numbers by physician
  • Coordinating with ambulatory surgery center staff and patients to schedule appointments and tests, as well as sending and receiving all documentation in a timely manner
  • Maintaining inventory of clinical stock and supplies and orders as needed on a monthly basis.
  • Collecting, sorting, and distributing mail daily and delivers to physician offices.
  • Verifying all critical tasks are completed per clinic protocols.
  • Supporting, motivating, and sustaining a teamoriented culture.

Education Required:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MA Diploma or equivalent

Experience Required:


  • At least 2 years of surgery center/outpatient clinic experience or experience working with a doctor
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the medical team and respond quickly and efficiently

Experience Desired:


  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, such as Epic and DrChrono, is a plus
  • Experience in Spine, Ortho, or Pain Management

License and Certification Required:


  • BLS certificate

Position Reports to:


  • Practice Manager, Facility Manager and Administrator

Salary:

- $25.00-$27.00 per hour, DOE.


Job Type:


  • Part time with the potential to go fulltime as the practice grows

Standard Shift:


  • Approximately 16 hours divided between Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in our Encino AND Marina Del Rey surgery centers AND remote

Note:
There is a potential to add more hours as the practice grows
