    What we offer:

    * Salary: $16.00-$20.00

    Preventative care is 100% covered (free) on all plans.

    PTO is offered to full-time and part-time employees.

    11 days of PTO and 10 paid holidays annually.

    Job Functions:

    Will support and assist the Sr. Manager in the orientation process and mentoring new staff. Perform duties of planning and implementing educational activities and curriculum for age group assigned.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    1. Use knowledge of best practices and the highest standard of care to plan and administer developmentally appropriate curriculum in the classroom. Use Promiseland policies and the mission, vision, and guiding values of Metropolitan Ministries as a framework to assure curriculum and classroom management delivered with concern for the care, safety and welfare of our children and their families.
    2. Assist with the supervision of teachers including mentoring and coaching.
    3. Assist in orientation and mentoring of new staff and volunteers.
    4. Ensure that teachers conduct ASQ assessment in a timely manner and report information to the Sr. Manager
    5. Write weekly lesson plans, due weekly to the Director.
    6. Maintain detailed records on children, including anecdotal records of progress and health records. Keep Director informed of student's special needs, unusual behavior, or incidents.
    7. Maintain the safety, security and cleanliness of all Promiseland classroom equipment.
    8. Administer and score student assessments. Utilize knowledge of community resources to provide referrals to address specific children's needs.
    9. Strictly adhere to all licensing guidelines. Participate in on-going training as required by childcare state licensing.
    10. Continue to implement the sanctuary culture and the understanding of the 7 commitments.
    11. Support the team in all other tasks as assigned and attends all team meetings. Meets personal goals and actively contributes to the achievement of the team and organizational/targets/goals as stated on the Balanced Scorecard in the annual plan.
    Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and CDA; 40 hours of training in early childhood

    education and 5 hours of training in literacy required. A minimum of 1 year experience working as an

    Early Childhood Teacher. MMCI preferred.

    Skill Requirements:

    Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong inter-personal skills and the ability

    to work and communicate with low socio-economic and diverse parents and clients in a professional and

    diplomatic manner. Ability to verbally communication and resolve conflicts between pre-school age

    children. Ability to plan, organize and conduct early childhood education programs. Ability to

    communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to use a computer and related software.

    Ability to administer CPR and First Aid to children and implement safety procedures. Ability to work

    Effectively with others within a multi-disciplinary team framework including staff and volunteers.

    Ability to supervise and direct volunteers. Demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith,

    culture and other sources of diversity.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Hearing and speaking ability, which allows for effective oral communication of information. Physical, emotional and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.

    Other:

    Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Valid FL drivers license with a good driving record and insured vehicle in order to transport self and clients when necessary.
