Powder Coating Specialist

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Job Status: Full-Time

Schedule: M-Th – 6am – 4:30pm, occasional overtime. NO WEEKENDS!

POSITION SUMMARY

The Powder Coating Specialist is responsible for applying powder to parts using automatic and manual powder guns, ensuring a safe work environment and high-quality output.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Set up and operate powder guns to apply powder accurately.
• Apply powder to parts following customer specifications.
• Conduct visual quality checks during the application process.
• Clean system components thoroughly between color changes and at the end of each shift.
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and chemical levels.
• Document powder usage for inventory management.
• Adhere to safety protocols and cleanliness standards.

When not applying powder:

• Prepare parts for application and hang them efficiently on the line.
• Perform visual inspections and document quantities accurately.
• Organize finished parts for further processing or shipping.
• Utilize necessary tools to meet quality standards.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Diploma

Experience: Prior experience in metal fabrication manufacturing with powder coating.

Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge.

Certificates & Licenses: N/A

Other Requirements:

• Proficiency in using tools like Grinder and DA sander.
• Respirator medical certification and training.
