Major Responsibilities:


  • Reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity
  • Lead students to a realization of their selfworth in Christ
  • Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout all curriculum and activities
  • Represent the school in a favorable and professional manner
  • Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration
  • Cooperate with the School Board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly classroom
  • Establish and enforce rules of conduct for students in the classroom in accordance with school policies
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning; share lesson plans with the administration in accordance with school policy
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
  • Evaluate student progress by preparing, administering, and scoring tests, quizzes, and exams
  • Monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records and post grades in accordance with administrative requirements
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned, such as assisting school libraries, hall and cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading and unloading
  • Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations as directed
  • Assist parents by providing academic information; suggesting available educational and social resources; answering questions and requests; promptly notifying them of student issues or concerns
  • Prepare a summary of each parent conference for the student's file and document according to school policy
  • Participate in daily prayer meetings, inservice, retreats, and committee, faculty, staff, and parentteacher meetings and fellowships
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing professional networks
  • Know and be able to implement emergency procedures according to applicable school policy; instruct and train students to execute emergency procedures quickly and calmly

Minimum Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 24 hours of coursework in the specific content discipline advertised OR appropriate teaching certification required

  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; 10 pounds of force frequently; and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects; perform repetitive motion, such as grasping, picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise utilizing finger dexterity
