    Senior Casualty Desk Adjuster - Nashville, United States - The General

    Description
    At The General, we are seeking a Senior Casualty Desk Adjuster to investigate and maintain complex or highly complex casualty claims . You will determine liability, secure information, reviews coverages, arrange appraisals, and settle claims for us.

    You will report to the Claims Manager.

    Position Compensation Range:

    $67, $111,000.00

    Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

    You will investigate and settle vehicle accident claims over the phone and through written correspondence. You will handle 1st and 3rd party claims. You will investigate and determine complex coverage and liability. You will handle moderate injury claims. You will handle attorney represented and non-represented claims. Responsibilities include:

    • You will evaluate and investigate policy coverage, liability and damages promptly following a set of general claim and statutory guidelines.
    • You will assist internal and external customers with problems or questions regarding claims by phone or through written correspondence.
    • You will establish initial reserves for all potential exposures and adjust throughout the claim.
    • You will investigate and evaluate claims using a lowest ultimate cost strategy.
    • You will maintain appropriate management of assigned inventory following company guidelines.
    • You will conduct investigations which can include obtaining necessary documents or forms from customers and conducting recorded statements.
    • You will ensure completion of appraisals and determine accident related damages.
    • You will communicate with involved parties and negotiate appropriate settlements with claimants, insureds and attorneys within approved payment authority.
    • You will recognize recovery opportunities in regards subrogation and salvage.
    • You will evaluate and settle bodily injury claims within designated authority.

    Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

    3+ years handling Casualty Claims, handling attorney represented casualty claims, and handling Bodily Injury Claims.

    We prefer you to have experience in non-standard auto.

    Solid knowledge of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages, or other equivalent knowledge.

    Understanding of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge.

    Licenses

    • Obtain any required state specific property casualty claims licensing.

    Travel Requirements

    • Up to 10%.

    In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home. You must reside within a 50-mile radius of the following offices: Madison, WI , Eden Prairie, MN , Denver, CO , Nashville, TN , St. Joseph, MO , Keene, NH , Phoenix, AZ or a 30-mile radius of Boston, MA
