- Timely and accurate reporting and filing of monthly and quarterly sales and excise tax returns
- Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries to support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close for assigned areas
- Assist with maintaining up-to-date and accurate state registrations for the appropriate state returns
- Research and follow up on fuel excise tax discrepancies
- Assist with resolving tax issues
- Assist with filing reporting on sales to government entities
- Collaborate with other accounting staff to support department goals and objectives
- Maintain files of current customer state registration copies
- Enter and maintain customer set-ups, taxes, and billing information after credit approval
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or 2-4 years of related business experience
- High level of attention to detail and reconciliation skills
- Experience with analysis and reporting of financial transactions
- Experience with filing sales and/or excise tax a plus
- Experience with NetSuite, Avalara, and IGen a plus
- Ability to pull and utilize system reports to analyze data
- MS Excel proficiency – xlookup and pivot tables
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Job DescriptionDescription:Position Overview
The Accounting and Tax Specialist is primarily responsible for the preparation of multiple sales and excise tax reports, tax research and tax planning. In addition, this position includes various general accounting responsibilities. The position will interact with multiple internal departments, customers, vendors and state tax departments to resolve accounting, excise, and sales tax matters.
