How can I have an impact?


In this role, you will diagnose computer problems, monitor computer processing systems, install software, perform tests on computer equipment and programs and maintain video surveillance, access control and other electronic security systems/equipment.

You will be responsible for implementing system testing and preventive maintenance programs.

You'll perform routine technical security integration functions to support deployment of security engineering activities such as setup, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of video surveillance and access control systems.

Works from schematics, logic diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, plans and specialized test equipment. You may may also set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance, and teach clients to use programs. Other job duties can include minor repairs and computer parts ordering. May be responsible for conduits, cabling, and fiber-optic infrastructure removal and installation. Troubleshoots testing, aligns and adjusts complete electronic and computer systems, equipment, or components.


You MUST:


Be experienced in field installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and onsite operation and maintenance of electronic, electromechanical, and/or mechanical systems, subsystems, and components for software and data/communication networks.

Independently installs, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and/or repairs highly complex mechanical, electronic, or integrated systems.

Applies working technical knowledge to routine or complex tasks, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and performing activities such as taking test measurements, performing test/calibration procedures, observing results, and recording information for evaluation.


AND:


Your duties will include,
but are not limited to:

  • Performs system maintenance (preventative, repair and upgrades) for client systems to include Flir Latitude Video Management System and Software House Access Control System.
  • Performs troubleshooting of client systems to determine the level of response required to outages
  • Maintains security system equipment inventory via MS SharePoint portal.
  • Creates and updates "trouble tickets" via MS SharePoint portal.
  • Coordinates with contractors on upgrade projects
  • Works with other staff members to maintain appropriate records
  • Orders necessary supplies and equipment for staff and client support via purchasing system
  • Attends meeting with clients to respond to technical issues
  • Assists in preparing responses to RFPs and similar requests
  • Assists in managing contracts that have been awarded
  • Works directly with partners to develop solutions to client issues
  • Represents TelaForce to clients, contractors and others in a professional manner

Work Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college in engineering, computer science, information systems, or mathematics
  • 3 years related experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Indentification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able to obtain Flir Certified Technician Certification
  • Must be able to register as a Electronic Access Control Device Installer with Texas DPS
  • Must be able to complete Level 4 Crimial Justice Information System course

Desirable Experience/Skills:


  • Strong problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to use software packages such as: Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project desirable.
  • Experience as a Technician with extensive "handson" work with video surveillance or access control systems is desirable.
  • Hold a valid Transportation Worker Indentification Credential (TWIC)
  • Hold a Flir Certified Technician Certificate
  • Registered as a Electronic Access Control Device Installer with Texas DPS
