***: This position entails the review of law enforcement body worn camera footage and the shielding of sensitive information contained therein. Performs professional level administrative work, under general supervision from a supervisor. Work includes carrying out administrative and technical tasks related to the review and shielding of body worn camera footage.
This is a full-time position requiring daily "in office" work.
This is an "at will" position. This is a State-authorized exempt position and is ineligible for membership in a collective bargaining unit.

STARTING SALARY IS $53,379

CLASS DESCRIPTION:


Performs senior secretarial or routine paralegal work, which may include supervisory responsibility, under general supervision from an administrative or technical superior.

Work typically involves independent and confidential secretarial work as the appointed secretary to
a
Circuit Court Judge; or work may involve writing briefs, conducting research and providing other paralegal support to a legal staff.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • On a daily basis, review body worn camera footage and shield all privileged and sensitive information.
  • Create and compile a log of significant events occurring in the footage. Provide the Assistant State's Attorney with this log.
  • Ensure compliance with internal protocols for the review and processing of body worn camera footage.
  • Complete various records/database management processes and ensure accurate and complete resolution of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information and records while completing assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Associates Degree and three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.


PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in:
  • Political Science
  • Law and Government/Law and Society
  • Criminal Justice/Criminology
  • Police Sciences
  • Forensic Science
  • Legal Services or Legal Studies
  • Prelaw or other Law related degree
  • Paralegal Studies (Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's)
  • Ability to quickly and accurately shift focus between tasks, to prioritize and transition between tasks of equal importance, and successfully manage continuously shifting priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology.
  • Strong computer skills.
